Access Ethernet Disk Gigabit from multiple subnets

Access Ethernet Disk Gigabit from multiple subnets.

The built-in Windows firewall prevents access to the Ethernet Disk Gigabit from multiple subnets. To enable this feature, the Windows firewall must be adjusted to allow for it (or disabled entirely.)

The controls for the Windows Firewall can be accessed in two ways:

  • Locally, with a connected monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Remotely, using RDP.

In either situation, log in using the local administrator credentials. By default, these are the user name administrator and the password admin.

Click the "Firewall" link from the main interface. This will bring up the Windows Firewall settings control panel.

If unsure what to do, disable the firewall. Advanced users may wish to add an exception for the different subnet.
